Artist - Alexis Tsegba

Alexis Tsegba is a self-taught artist and photographer from Benue State, Nigeria who has recently completed a Masters Programme in Creative and Media Enterprise from the University of Warwick. In her most recent works, Alexis experiments with digital collages to create surrealistic portraits that often feature mystical landscapes. The artist is deeply inspired by renaissance as well as contemporary art and attempts to combine these older, pre-established styles while still contributing to new, emerging style such as Afro-futurism. The inspiration for this body of work is drawn from the artist’s need to see everyday people from the African continent being documented and represented especially in digital art forms.
