A talented artist and Islander. In his current body of work, he is experimenting with texture and color. Diluting traditional oil paints with linseed oil and thinners, he expands the paint to the point of breakdown. As gravity pulls the thinned hues across the textured canvas it creates eddies and currents. Color pools in the depressions while resisting raised ridges. In some paintings, he forces the flow to suggest recognizable images. In most, the paint defines its own path and the resulting renderings are abstract.
Because of the extended time to dry each canvas between applications of color, his paintings take many months to produce. Some have as many as fifty layers of paint. Due to this meticulous process, each of his paintings is unique and cannot be reproduced by traditional methods.
