Join us this First Friday, July 3rd, Noon - 3PM for an Outdoor Art Walk!
SZ Gallery features a display of talented photographers selected during PICHA’s annual call to artists. This year’s topical theme is SKIN.
‘Apart from the roles we play in our communities and the traditions we've inherited from the past, what does it mean to be an African today? Who are we once we are stripped of the expectations, the prejudices, and the assumptions? What makes us African?’
$100 from each sale of the SKIN collection will be donated to BLACK ARTISTS + DESIGN GUILD. It’s mission is to build a more equitable and inclusive creative culture by advancing a community of independent Black artists, makers and designers in creative industries. We are committed to honoring our ancestral legacy in design, by taking ownership of our narrative, and by creating spaces to celebrate Black excellence and culture in design.
SZ Gallery has aired (IGTV + FB) an exclusive interview with PICHA Founder, Josiane Faubert. The beauty of this Virtual Art Opening is that you can watch it anytime, enjoy!
AfroFuturism. 2019
Last year, the SZ Gallery proudly featured a photographic collection, AfroFuturism. Revisit our interview with PICHA’s Founder, Josiane Faubert, and see how her annual call to photographers has resulted in such a powerful exhibit. The AfroFuturism photographic backdrop was perfect, as we celebrated our Third Anniversary on Mercer Island! To learn more about AfroFuturism - click here!
